Google API Data — OfficeDesk CLI
This section applies specifically to how the OfficeDesk command-line interface (“OfficeDesk CLI”) accesses and handles data from Google Workspace APIs. The OfficeDesk CLI is a set of command-line tools that connect to Google services on your behalf using OAuth 2.0.
Google API Services We Use
The OfficeDesk CLI may request access to the following Google API services, depending on which tools you choose to authorise:
Google Sheets
- Spreadsheet content, including cell values, headers, and sheet names.
- The CLI can read from and write to your Google Sheets — for example, appending data rows, reading column headers, or updating individual cells — as part of your requested operations.
Google Calendar
- Calendar metadata, event details (titles, times, locations, descriptions), and free/busy availability.
- The CLI can list, create, and manage calendar events on your behalf, and to check scheduling availability, as part of your requested operations.
You will only be asked to authorise the specific Google service you wish to use. Authorisation is granted by you through Google's standard OAuth consent screen before any data is accessed.
How Your Google Data Is Handled
- Local processing only. All data returned by Google APIs is delivered directly from Google's servers to the OfficeDesk CLI running on your own device. Your Google data (spreadsheet content, calendar events, etc.) is displayed as command-line output or written to local files on your machine. It is not transmitted to OfficeDesk servers.
- OAuth tokens are stored locally. When you authorise the OfficeDesk CLI, the resulting OAuth credentials (access token and refresh token) are saved on your local device only. These tokens are not stored in OfficeDesk's cloud infrastructure.
- No server-side data storage. OfficeDesk does not receive, store, or process any of your Google Sheets data, Google Calendar data, or other Google user data on its servers.
Limited Use Disclosure
OfficeDesk CLI's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Specifically:
- We only use Google user data to provide or improve user-facing features of the OfficeDesk CLI that you have directly initiated.
- We do not transfer Google user data to third parties, except as necessary to provide the features you have requested, for security purposes, or to comply with applicable law.
- We do not allow humans to read your Google user data, unless you have given explicit consent, it is necessary for security purposes (such as investigating a bug), or it is required by law.
- We do not use Google user data for advertising, including retargeting, personalised advertising, or interest-based advertising.
- We do not sell or transfer Google user data to data brokers, analytics providers, or any other third parties for purposes unrelated to the OfficeDesk CLI's functionality.
- We do not use Google user data to determine creditworthiness or for lending purposes.
Revoking Access
You may revoke the OfficeDesk CLI's access to your Google account at any time by visiting Google Account Permissions and removing OfficeDesk. You may also delete locally stored OAuth tokens by removing the token files from your device (located in the OfficeDesk configuration directory).
